A place that has grown organically
Behind the Kohlbrennerhof stand we – Karin and Oswald. Our idea was never to create something enormous. But rather something that simply feels right.
From the very beginning, it was a matter close to our hearts that the original charm would not be lost during the reconstruction. Our lodges are a deliberate retreat for adults who seek silence, cherish seclusion, and long for a genuine break from everyday life.
Karin takes care of what makes the stay tangible.
Many of the small details that you might not notice immediately,
but which ensure that everything feels harmonious.

My heart beats for the simple, genuine things in life. I flourish outdoors in nature – whether working in the garden or lovingly tending to our sheep. They are my balance and my daily dose of happiness.
My retreat, however, is the kitchen. When the scent of fresh dough and oven-fresh baking fills the air, I am completely in my element. Baking is my creative escape, where I forget everything around me. And the best part? The love I put into my baked goods can be tasted – I most enjoy serving these little moments of happiness directly to our guests in the lodges.

This estate is my home and my very personal place of strength – I have felt drawn to this place since my childhood. When we planned our lodges, it was clear: nature sets the tone!
